Liz Dawes Duraisingh has been associated with Project Zero since 2003, when she began working as a research assistant on the Interdisciplinary Studies Project. After taking time out to complete her doctorate, she returned to Project Zero and became a Principal Investigator in 2014. With\u00a0<\/span>Carrie James<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Shari Tishman<\/a>, Liz co-directs\u00a0<\/span>Out of Eden Learn<\/a>, an innovative online learning community that promotes intercultural inquiry and exchange among young people around the world, in collaboration with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Paul Salopek. Liz also co-directs\u00a0<\/span>Creating Communities of Innovation<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0<\/span>Edward Clapp<\/a>: a collaboration with the GEMS network of schools in the United Arab Emirates and their affiliated training institute, TELLAL. This project supports inquiry-driven professional development for teachers, with the goal of promoting innovative practices in schools: this work has resulted in an expansive\u00a0<\/span>Toolkit of resources<\/a>. In addition, Liz leads a related project called\u00a0<\/span>Creando Comunidades de Indagaci\u00f3n\/Creating Communities of Inquiry<\/a>: a collaboration with the Innova Schools of Peru designed to promote inquiry-driven teaching and learning practices at all levels of their network. Liz additionally serves as Lecturer on Education at HGSE, teaching introductory qualitative research courses to both Phd. and master\u2019s students. She was previously a middle and high school history teacher for eight years, working in both England and Australia. She has a B.A. in History and French from Oxford University, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from the Institute of Education, University of London, and an Ed.M. and Ed.D. from HGSE. Her dissertation won the 2013 Larry Metcalf Exemplary Dissertation Award from the National Council for the Social Studies.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
