Daniel Zovatto is Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA).<\/p>\n
Zovatto is a member of the Advisory Council of the Latin America Program of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (both from the United States of America), a member of the Editorial Board of the Foreign Affairs Magazine in Spanish, and a member of the International Advisory Council of the Governance Index for Africa from the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.<\/p>\n
In Argentina, he is a corresponding academic at the National Academy of Law and Social Sciences of C\u00f3rdoba and the National Academy of Moral and Political Sciences of Buenos Aires, Argentina; consultant member of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI); Advisor to the Argentine Political Action Network (RAP) and the Center for the Implementation of Public Policies for Equity and Growth in Argentina (CIPPEC).<\/p>\n
In C\u00f3rdoba, he chaired the Commission of Electoral Experts that introduced the Single Suffrage Ballot in this province.<\/p>\n
In Chile, in 2015, he served as a former advisor–at the invitation of former president Michelle Bachelet–of the Presidential Advisory Council against conflicts of interest, influence peddling and corruption.<\/p>\n
He is an international lecturer and analyst. He is an analyst and columnist for the CNN en Espa\u00f1ol network and a frequent contributor to various Latin American newspapers and El Pa\u00eds (Spain), as well as radio and television programs from numerous countries in the region.<\/p>\n
He is the author of 40 books (as author, co-author, editor, coordinator or compiler) and of more than 100 articles on issues of elections, democracy and governance, as well as those related to elections, governance and democracy in Latin America.<\/p>\n
