María Waleska Álvarez

President of the Caribbean NAP, President of the Board of Directors of EDUCA, Dominican Republic

María Waleska Álvarez is a specialist in negotiation, digital transformation, innovation and information and communication technologies. She is Executive President of the Caribbean NAP, President of the Board of Directors of EDUCA, member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of AMCHAMDR and member of the Board of Directors of Adofintech.

She directed and supervised the expansion of the Caribbean NAP, consolidating the operation as the most secure, innovative, and best interconnected Technology Center in the Caribbean.

Her law thesis served as the basis for the current law of electronic commerce and digital signatures of the Dominican Republic and she participated in the working group that developed the current Law of Crimes and High-tech Crimes of the country.

María Waleska Álvarez holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM); She completed other higher studies at the Pompeo Fabra University, Barcelona, at Harvard University and at the Virtual University of the Technological Institute of Monterrey and was the first Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) of the DR at an international level.
