Mónica Pachón

Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations, University of California

Ms. Pachón is a Political Scientist with a Masters from the Universidad de los Andes, and a M.Phil. in Latin American Studies and a Doctorate in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Architecture and Design Department of the Universidad de los Andes. Her research has concentrated in the executive-legislative relations, the organization and institutional evolution of the Colombian Congress, issues related to fiscal strengthening and decentralization, electoral set-up and political behavior. She was director of Proyecto Congreso Visible, starting in August 2009 until August 2013, and Associate Professor of the Universidad de los Andes until December 2015. She was also Dean and Full Professor of the Political Science, Government and International Relations Department of the Universidad del Rosario, from January 2016 until December 2018, and Tinker Visiting Professor of the University of Colombia until December 2018.
